If you have to grow, there is nothing like a hard time to help that happen…Hanging Out with the Most High God is a story about Billy Lymon, a gay man – born that way as far as he’s concerned – and in 1974, at the age of 19, while trying to outrun a deep depression, he becomes a born-again believer. As he develops his relationship with God, God talks to him. He asks God to explain why he and so many others are gay if it is so wrong, and God says “Later”. For several years afterward, Billy abstains from any sexuality while waiting to hear from God on the subject, and while he waits, God sends him around the country in ministry – first to New York City. There Billy learns that he can trust the voice he hears in his head and that God loves him just as he is and that hanging out with his God is a lot of fun.
